Hamlet

My first impression of Hamlet is that he is still depressed about his father, and all he wants to do is go to school. Hamlet also seems to be mad at his mother because she married her husbands brother two months after his death. Hamlet is wearing black clothing which indicates that he is still mourning his fathers death. When Claudius sees this he is not happy because he wants Hamlet to get over it and be ready to be the heir to the throne. When Hamlet hears this all he wants to do is go to school and study.

  1. Saying this what do you think Hamlet should act like you give off a negative connotation on this. For Example Instead of wearing black clothing and being sad Hamlet should be proud of his farther. Also I think I made a mistake by telling you he wanted to go to school I probably read it wrong sorry. But otherwise you make a great argument. Try to go for over 300 words like this could be an introductory paragraph and to beef it up use quotes.

  2. You should try an incorporate some evidence from the play so we all can see what you are seeing. Maybe by citing some lines of the play that represent how Hamlet is still mourning about his fathers death and how Claudius wants Hamlet to take the throne would let everyone understand your take on the story more clearly. Just another thing to think about is are you sure that Claudius wants Hamlet to be ready to take the throne? It seems that claudius is actually seeing Hamlet as a threat to his recently awarded rank as king and by keeping Hamlet from school he is keeping him from becoming smarter and more able to take the throne away from him. Otherwise i think you make a good point about how Hamlet is mad about his mother marrying his uncle. Try to go over three hundred or so words because i think you could elaborate on your opinions more clearly.
